For the vegetarians amongst us, could you clarify what the size of a goose egg is? I have a rough idea what a chicken egg size is, but not familiar with a goose egg. I would have thought a goose egg would have been about twice the size of a chicken egg. I seem to recall talking to someone about egg gourds at the Ohio Gourd Show, and they were making the point that the egg gourd tends to get larger and that the challenge of growing them is to keep them small. We bought a bag from her(unless i'm getting the person I bought them from confused with someone I was talking to ABOUT them - the gourd show memories are a little confused as I talked to SO many people) and her egg gourds were a little smaller than a chicken egg. > The first year I grew the egg gourd they were about twice as big > as a chicken's egg, but they were from a package of mixed ornamental > gourd seeds and I planted a lot of seeds in a small place. > > Since then, with better care, my egg gourds come out about the > size of the goose egg.
