The Fragrant Garden Chilli Festival March 7& 8 1998

The Fragrant Garden Chilli Festival looks like it will be even bigger and
better this year.
Robert is going demented at the moment propagating over 200 varieties of
Chilli. This has to be something for the Guinness Book of Records!
Leo Delolio and The Central Coast Conservatorium are going to bring along
their fabulous Big Band who will belt out some great hot numbers as only a
big band can! The outrageous Red Hot Chilli Mummas are into absolutely
fabulous mode. Their sessions were one of the highlights of the last
Festival and this year the eye-lashes are even longer and the costumes more
astounding.
The Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza has come on board and their restaurants will
be featuring fantastic Chilli Menus from Saturday 7th March to Sunday,
March 15. On the weekend of the Festival they will be at The Fragrant
Garden serving the more alcoholic Chilli drinks and their amazing Executive
Chef, Greg Pollard, has organised a great line up of tastings and Chilli
cooking demonstrations.
The Crowne Plaza has kindly lent us barbecue equipment for our Great
Chilli Gourmet Bar-B-Q which will operate for several hours on both
Saturday and Sunday.
The renowned Rattlesnake Grill of Neutral Bay will again be with us. There
can be few more generous or more knowledgeable cooks than Chef Victor
Pisapia. Victor will share his extensive knowledge of chillies and chilli
cooking with Festival goers on both Saturday and Sunday. Rattlesnake Grill
will also be selling their Marguerita Mix and their extraordinary Belgian
Chocolate Chilli Truffles which sold out in a flash last year.
The Café has promised to make up a big batch of hellishly hot Chilli Jam.
Requiring kilos and kilos of chillies and several days of cooking, the
Chilli Jam will be bottled over the next months, some of it is ready for
sale now. Use it sparingly if you value your vocal cords. It is a great
way to spice up everything from rice to chocolate!
Entry to The Fragrant Garden on the Weekend of the Festival will be $2,
(Free to Friends). All lectures, demonstrations, entertainment and
tastings are free but there will be a $3 charge for a 10 minute Chilli
Massage
