For John:

I didn't take offense and didnt complain about your mailing, although Chuck
makes some great points about offending people. Also about welcoming you to
the list and realizing that you are prolifically apologizing for the letter.

For the list:

I wonder how much of the same type of mail Calvin got when he offered free
samples of his powder. I have seen nothing but positive replies, but the
offer was to get people to try the powder, and to buy it if they liked it.
Not really much different than John's except Calvin offered us something for
free. Does a free sample make the offer a different kind of SPAM? I have
asked Calvin to send me some powder as well, as I would like to try it. If I
like it I may want to order some as well, or, being somewhat creative
culinarily, I may try to duplicate it. Bottom line: I really didn't take
offense at either, although I can see the point of those who did. I would
hope that we all can show a little patience with one another and kindly remind
rather than blast.

And learn to use the "delete" button if there is something yoiu don't want to
read.
