From a handy little poster outside my work cubicle, somewhat
     redundantly entitled "The Solanceae Family"...

"The Solanaceae (or Potato family) includes some of the world's most
economically valuable plants, such as potatoes, tomatoes, *peppers*,
     tobacco and petunias."

Is this bad news for the sterile soil question?
