The only thing I've heard will kill TMV immediately is soil sterilization which, I believe, leaves your soil useless for a couple years. It also kills all the good bacteria, good bugs, etc., etc., etc. (my organic soap-box, here). TMV is persistent in the soil for five years. So avoid using any tobacco products in your garden, compost, etc.!! R.
