In general the darker the drink the more likely it is too make you feel worse. There
is a reason for this but I have forgotten it....

Water will help a bit, but another good fluid is Orange Juice, as this also replaces
lost vitamins. I don't think that any food will help to prevent a hangover, but a big
fried breakfast afterwards helps me!
