(My fifteen-year-old son did this in his high school class when they were
studying fermentation and were making kemchi. He took some overripe habs to
school to use for the experiment. We made a certificate for one of the boys
in his class that ate a whole habanero on a dare, and still maintained a
relatively normal respiration rate!)
