As one of the many who wondered where the heat was in the 5-alarm chili
recipe, let me say it was never my intent to impugn or offend, I was
generally curious about what her chili powder may have contained in order to
have achieved such uncomfortable heat. Having said that, I should point out
that some of us on this list use the term chilehead-hot, as opposed to what
the general non chile-head public may think of as hot. This is part of (but
not exclusively) why we are chile-heads. It is therefore reasonable for
listmembers to have wondered about the seeming lack of the very heat in
question which was the raison d'etre for the original post to the list. I am
not sure if the original poster considers herself to have been flamed or
not, maybe she will speak up again and let us know if we offended her.
