[CH] Habanero Germination

G'day:

I live in Sydney. It is the start of summer and the temps are about 26C
average, but it will get hotter.

I realize the the germination time for Hab seeds is long. Mine do not
sprout until some 50 days and then only 50% sprout. The rest are
probably eaten up because of remaining in the soil for so long

.Is there something I can do to speed up the germination process?

Also the fruit from the plants is quite hot and big in the first year
but in the second and third year the fruit size becomes quite small and
not worth picking. Can anything be done for this please?
