Kurt queried about his Braun coffee grinder:

Take a slice of fresh white bread, the softer the better... i.e. "Wonder 
Bread" or some other obviously not made to *consume* product... stuff it 
into the grinder and let 'er rip.

I usually need to do this twice to thrice (a new slice of bread each 
time, of course! <vbg>) and I always have a clean grinder ready to go.
