Habs, scotch bonnets, and savinas need a LONG growing season. I'm in Zone 6
in the Connecticut River valley where our traditional date for setting plants
in the garden is the last weekend in May. I start my pepper plants indoors
on or about St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) but the earlier the better. I
was still picking ripe habaneros and savinas into December.
