Damp-off Here's a non-chemical way.

Most books on Damp-off claim it happens with excess moisture
and lack of ventalation

This is for those closet/ spare corner/ spare room seed starters

1. Find out how much water it takes to really soak your pot
with your seed starting/ potting media.
2. When you water, use 25% less than step 1.
3. Allow the soil surface to dry for about 12 hours between waterings
4. Aim a small computer fan at your seedlings,
from 3 or 4 ft away. Keep fan running as long as you are growing

PLEASE: If you have young'uns around the house, make sure little
fingers can't get into the fan.

NOTE: It's easier to water 25% more than to start over

To those who have recommended Captan in the past, Its banned
for most veggie plants.
