I suppose as a vegetarian I shouldn't answer this question but......I
routinely mix dried chiles in the chicken feed during the winter. I don't
know whether this really helps them lay better during the cold season but
we do always have plenty of eggs. They don't hit the stewpot until they
are pretty old (yeah yeah I know I am going to vegetarian hell) but my
husband reports the chiles have no impact on the taste.
Cleaning out the henhouse is such an unpleasant experience anyway, it
doesn't seem like the chiles would make that much difference.
