Indeed.

For example, many posted recipes use canola oil (rape oil for those of us
not living in North America),  which I absolutely hate the taste of.

Whether a recipe has been tried by the poster or not is of no importance as
to whether or not it is to one's liking,  though original recipes should be
tested before posting.
