We grow jalapenos for the local grocery stores. When I say 10,000 peppers,
that includes the green bells, jalapenos and all the other varieties. The
bells and jalapenos are for commercial sale. We harvest about 100 pounds of
jalapenos per week and about 20 - 25 bushels of green bells each week in
season. With some of the other crops (melons, pumpkins etc,)we have about 2
acres of commercial garden so we are quite small. My kids make a fair
amount of cash money each year off the garden, so we keep doing it.
We give away a lot of plants from the other pepper varieties. Just raise
them for fun and games and to make homemade hot sauces.
Do you sell the plants themselves, or do you harvest all of
>them yourself and sell the peppers? To who? Is it worthwhile?
