	From way back as a kid in New Mexico I distinctly remember that our
Yuccas were members of the cactus family - or certainly acted like
one!These were the long leaved variety which grow close to the ground and
go for the ankles and calves.
	As for Tapioca root, I remember clear back to 5th grade that it is very
poisonous unless fully cooked.  Has this changed in the last (well, lots
of years) or are we talking about a differnt plant?
	SW US  Indians used the spiny leaves to make a soap, they don't burn
long enough for a decent fire.
