Thanks for all the ideas on slug prevention and elimination. I ended up using a product from Fertiloam called Eliminate! Seems to have done the job really well. Could not find Dead Line that Lorraine had recommended but this stuff seems to have done the job. Now the fruits and vegies don't have things crawling out of them when I bring them into the kitchen.
