The Red Savinas(tm) I've planted the last four years now only had
variation the first year when I bought through a seed catalog. Since
that period of time I've planted well over 60,000 total and ran a
non-standard rate of maybe 1% or less. That first year though I did
have some yellows, orange, greens, and purples. None since then. I
have bought my seed direct from GNS Inc, the last few years though. The
Savina(tm) is said to have been a sport found by chance in a field of
regular habs about to be plowed under. The seeds were saved, then bred
and developed by a very large and established seed company. PVP status
was applied for and received. The Scoville rating was done by an
independant, nationally known lab using HPLC. GNS Spice has entered
into only a very few agreements with resellers of seed, Shepherds being
the one I know. The name 'Savina' is named for the mother of the PVP
holder, Mr. Frank Garcia, Jr.

I just went and checked the fields today and found my habs are over 5
feet tall!! Some hab chiles are nearly the size of my closed fist.
I'll eventually get pictures of these things available. My serranos
though, are being hammered by virus it would seem.

Setting 'slow mail' for the next two weeks (Indiana State Fair). I'll
get to any messages from this point later rather than sooner.

Disclaimers: Although I grow the Red Savina(tm) under agreement with
GNS, Inc., I do not sell seed. I also do not gain directly from the
sale of seeds by GNS, Inc., and only indirectly gain through the
increased interest in the chile.
