[CH] Hatch Question

Greetings chile-folk!

Ok...silly question time.  I should know this already from being around
here for so long.  Duh.

Can I grow my own hatch chiles in upstate NY?  Is the season too short
here?  Would it be worth it?  Are they very challenging?  Can I get
hatch plants by mail?  I'm thinking it would be nice to get a taste of
these morsels without having to dole out a wad of cash to have some
delivered from New Mexico.  What do you experts think?

p.s.   Went to Dinosaur BBQ last night for dinner (eat your hearts out
;)  )  and they are now spelling chipotle correctly on the bottle of
their chipotle sauce.  I may head to the store tonight to grab a
souvenier "chipolte" bottle to keep sealed if any are left.
