[CH] Spicing up liquor

Does anyone have any experience with spicing liquor/snaps with chiles?

I tasted a brand of gin which had a feel of chile (but probably did 
not actually contain that). Also there is a crude thing from Sweden 
called "Absolute Pepper".

Would like to make something more refined...
