The Red Savina is a patented variety introduced by GNS
spices in California. It's heat has been recorded as high as 525,000
Scoville Units. The Caribbean Red Habanero is a Seminis Seeds
introduction. It's heat has been recorded as high as 475,000 Scoville
Units. The typical Habanero pepper has a heat range of 200,000 to
300,000 Scoville Units. Heat varies based on location, from plant to
plant, and even from fruit to fruit on the same plant. You should
have no trouble substituting Caribbean Red or any other Red Habanero
for Red Savina. You could also substitute Orange unless you are
worried about color.
