[CH] must try these

One of the reasons I've not posted to this list in the best part of a
year is because I've met the most incredible girl, and have been working
solidly to getting a place for both of us and... well, you get the idea.
However the reason I bring it up in this list is, due to her Bengali
origins, she reckons she can take any heat I can, and then some... the
ideal mate for any CH! (hands off, I found her first)=20

Anyway, she's passed on a couple of things her mum used to make, and I'm
passing them on again, in case anyone has further info, or wants to take
a crack at them.

First is basically salsa, with green mangoes, roasted garlic, roast
chiles, and cilantro -- but eaten on its own, not with carbohydrates...
haven't seen a green mango around in a while, or I'd try it already

Second is as far as I can see the Bengali equivalent of tom yum goong,
made with tiny whole fish that she's forgotten the name of, garlic,
turmeric lemon juice, and tomatoes -- all simmered together -- heat as
required ;) I'd be interested to know the name of the fish used here -- tiny
silver
ones, about 1" x 1/2"

Can't wait til I can get out of this garlic/seafood-free zone and do
some real cooking!
