I may be a little late on this, been out of town. I wonder if WD-40 would
help with ring of fire? I can see it now, "Honey, would you come in here
and spray this stuff on my..." well never mind. 

Scott how'd the almost hotluck go. Specifically how were the spuds? I hope
they had good heat and people liked em. Wish I could have been there.
