[CH] Super Cayenne Ripening Question

Fellow Chile Heads,

Since we are getting to the end of the growing season in the midwest USA, 
we've started harvesting our hot peppers when they are full size and ripening 
them on the  window sill.  We've been successful in doing this until now.  
The super cayennes we are trying to ripen have lost their firmness and are 
very wrinkled.  Any ideas on what is happening will be greatly appreciated.
