Has anyone tried making hot pickled Brussels sprouts?

I'm going to make some with dehydrated Red Savinas, and I'm wondering how
many to put in (a quart) to make the sprouts hot.

Also, how long will it take for the heat to blend with the Brussels sprouts?

I'll also take suggestions on what herbs/spices to add.
