Choko = chayote = mirliton

Just happens I picked up 6 Chokos on sunday at the Pistol Club..

I made Meatballs with 2 of them
Recipe Follows
2 grated Chokos
1 Grated potato
1 grated Carrot
1 Grated onion
5 clove Garlic chopped fine
4 slices white bread shredded
small handful chopped dried Polish Mushrooms
3 lg eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon curry powder {mild} [we all stuff up at the shop sometimes]
1 tablespoon Ground Black pepper
4 cups dried breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon Paprika [Hungarian]
1 Chicken stock cube
1+1/2 lbs:/:700-800g pork mince
1+1/2 lbs:/:700-800g Beef Mince
good Splash of Balsamic Vingar and ditto Worchester sauce
Herbs and spices {Italian} to taste
I Had to make a small portion for the familly and then added 2 Aji's for
the ones I'm taking up to the pistol club on saturday..
As most of the heads know how to make meat balls i'll let them figure
out their own recipe,
for the record I soaked the bread in milk then added the eggs and other
ingredients, let it rest for a while added more dried breadcrumbs and
fried them in Peanut oil on a slow flame turning once then finished them
off in the oven..
I served them with 2 Chokoes peeled, seeded and sliced sauted in
unsalted butter and threw lots of Ground black pepper on them after I
turned them.
Green Peas, and boiled then roasted slashed Potatos.{buttered}..
Hey I used to be able to say that I had no Cholesterol Problem as I
hadn't been tested, Got tested and still don't have a problem..

I still have 2 left and will probably stretch some baked pears with them
and serve with a Butter honey orange Habpowder sauce..
We do eat well at the Pistol Club..
2 Webbers 1 Gas BBq 1 Wood or Gas Oven hand made takes 2 men to lift the
lid..
FWIW most of the 27 members will eat my cooking {Chile laced} and 5 are
growing more than 3 types of Chile..{ I supplied the seedlings }
