Personal preference is underground soaker hoses.

Drawbacks, need to do layout while planting out. Gotta watch where you
stick the shovel in the ground..

Pro's
Water right at roots where you need it.
Takes less water.
You can still weed or work in the garden while watering
If you spray, it doesn't wash your spray off the plants.
If hose gets plugged easier to unplug than drip.
Spreads water out a little further than the drip system.

FWIW.

Hi C-H's,

I was chatting with our local friendly irrigation guy about extending
our system to water the raised bed chile patches. He said sure, no
problem, and would I like a drip system instead of a spray one?
Any of you have any experience with drip irrigation? Pros and cons?
