Ladybugs do swarm - in the Fall. I live on the outside of a small forest and
swamp. Last September we started seeing ladybugs on the outsides of all the
houses on our side of the woods. No one across the street saw them or had
them on their houses. We also had them indoors too. They would come in
through the screens and also the doors. They would hang out on the ceiling
and the walls and the windows. I saw some in the winter too.
Yes, they swarm. So collect all you can. I'm going to do the same this Fall.
My DH will think I am nuts with the can of ladybugs in the fridge. or
freezer. Then in the Spring I'll let them outdoors.
Right now I don't need them but we still have quite a few in the grass and
in the air outside. Aside from those we have dragonflies, bees, you name
it. No bad bugs so far, or few. When I see one, I spray it with my garlic
spray and they disappear for awhile. I check the plants every day. So far so
good.
