Ted I am not sure if the Amish eat spicy foods and I guess there is
none here on the list to tell us if they did. But they sure sell it.
I went to some Amish farms with my mother last weekend and all of them
were selling jalapenos. Some had habaneros and other hot peppers. I
even picked up a nice sized potted pepper plant from them. I am
planing on changing internet providers so I didn't start up a
discussion on my new plant but will when I get everything straightened
out. Here in Kentucky they were selling some pepper plants that were
called hearts, could have been the same as the ones on e-bay. The
pods on the plant were all green so I'm not sure if they were the
same. So I am not sure how exactly how "extremely rare" they are
amongst the Amish.
