i like olive oil too...use it for much of my frying and such...BUT, 
it does have it's own taste, particularly extra virgin (which 
shouldn't be used for cooking at all...and personally, extra 
virgin(s) should be used raw, on a bed of greens <g>)

Extra? hmm...

hence, most folks don't use olive oil for much of anything other than 
a base for salad dressings and marinades.  I know some chefs who find 
the idea of using olive oil to fry in as blasphemy.  yet, if you like 
the flavor, why not use it!

i like using peanut oil for my chile oil cuz i like the flavor of the 
oil itself...

Anywho...use what ya wanna use...
