Mich,
Cameron, manufactures a stovetop wood chip smoker. But if you are not the
meat eating type, I doubt you want your digs, smelling like smoldering wood.
Lehur Jensen produces a small, somewhat efficient, electric smoker, for
outside use. Never owned one myself, but have heard some folks have had
success with them, if used in warmer weather, and kept out of cold wind.
They might do a good job with Chili's and such.

Now if you want to boost it up a bit, and head into an excellent water
smoker. Weber makes the Cadillac version. Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker.
While there may be some distance in price, the Weber will produce excellent
results for any type of smoked foods.
