Well, we have a new "pest" in the garden. Unlike whomever was trying to find
the larva that blended in, our pest is pretty easy to pick out. Weighs in at
70+ pounds, white with black spots... Yes, Jack, resident chile dog, has
been into the garden. Digging things up? Of course not! Jack NEVER does
anything the way any other dog would. He's out in the garden, very carefully
harvesting jalapenos and bringing them into the house, where he deposits
them on the living room floor and goes out for another one. He began picking
the pods off of our lonely jalapeno yesterday, one at a time and relatively
gently (one or two have toothmarks). He's not eating them, just picking
them.

Hey Jim, you need a new field hand (or mouth?) for the next season?
