My wife and I will be travelling through southern New Mexico in 
late September, too late for the Labor Day weekend chile festival 
in Hatch, NM I've heard so much about but never been to.  Are there 
other compelling reasons, other than to buy the locally grown 
chiles, for meandering north from our I-10 route back to sunny 
SoCal.  Also, this morning on the mexican-cooking newsgroup 
I frequent there was a post about vineyards and wineries around 
the Las Cruces, NM area.  Anyone know if they're worth a visit?
