I wish I could say that there are "hot" restaurants in Burbank. I've been
looking for 4 years now with little luck.
There is one, Chili Johns on Burbank Blvd., but John has gone fishin and
will be back sometime in September. He just closes the store, up and leaves
for
fishing holes in parts unknown for weeks at a time. There are a few
Mexican restaurants that are sub par at best . Paquito Mas on Verdugo (near
NBC studios) is a great little taco/burrito stand with a few excellent
salsas but nothing special. I suggest you rent a car because taxies are
very expensive
in Los Angeles due to the usual long distances to anywhere you want to go.
I recommend Chili My Soul in Sherman Oaks, Cha Cha Cha in Encino
(Caribbean), and El Tepyec in East La (about 20 minutes from the Airport),
and the Border Grill in Santa Monica (45 min each way). If all else fails,
my wife and I would be glad to open our home to you, and whip up something
spicy.
