El Jardin Yucateco (formerly Merida in Pasedena) (Authentic Yucatecan
Cuisine)CLOSED

48 E. Live Oak
Arcadia, CA
One block East of Santa Anita Blvd.

It was located in Old Town Pasadena but moved to the Arcadia location due
to a rent increase.
I knew the new location would not last because every time I went, we were
just about the only people in the place.
They served the best Machacca burrito in LA. As well as tamales that were
light and fluffy (not the coarser, denser type) with just a hint of
cinnamon, and the Poc Chuc which is sliced pork marinated with sour orange
and spices. Upon request they would bring you a small bowl of fresh chopped
habanero.
I have looked for 2 years for a replacement but no luck yet. El Tepyeck in
East LA has an excellent macchaca burrito however (and excellent quac).

CH-eers,
