Peppers derive their heat from capsiacins.

Horseradish is a root plant which probably comes from Europe. 
Bohemian is the most popular.

Mustard powder is ground from seeds and is sometimes mixed 
with horseradish although I've never seen or heard of Oriental 
horseradish mustard. 

I grew up eating beef on rye with horseradish mustard, but it didn't 
come from the orient.

Wasabi is sometimes referred to as horseradish, but it is a green, 
not a root.
