[CH] Oz--the west side

A friend of mine just returned from Melbourne and Sail after working in
the Bass Strait for a couple of weeks.

He was nice enough to bring me some fresh habs, serranos and jalapenos
in addition to lots of dried and canned chiles. He was also most
impressed with the people there.

As I've only been out of Asia maybe two weeks in the past 5 years and
really don't like the hours involved for a trip back to Texas, I'm
thinking I might visit Perth and Freemantle for a couple of weeks to put
some of the roundness back in my eyes.

I've just reread the thread about Suz' trip to Oz with the postings
from Luke, Tara and Ben so now know to pick up a Strine phrase book and
take my own ketchup and mustard.

Questions are, is Mexican food in Oz really as bad you guys claim
(please say it ain't so) and can anyone recommend good eats (hot is
nice) in Perth and environs? Please omit Thai restaurants as I can eat
that anytime. Also does anyone know of a place like the Pepperama shop
that Suz mentioned so that I might stock up on more goodies?

	Thanks,

	David in Thailand
