Calling all ChileHeads to Florida for the 3rd Annual Chile Pepper Festival.
It is at Fiery Food Junction in Palmetto on U.S. 41, about 30 mins. south of
St. Petersburg. Go to their website for the details, but beware, the date
has been changed to Jan. 26. According to John Frederick, one of the owners,

they had 4000 attendees last year and may get as many as 8000 this year.
There is no charge for the festival, just $1 to park. The Fiery Food Cookoff

will have all sorts of tastings for a $1 or less each. I tried to score a
judging position, but I heard they are impossible to come by. There is a
sauce & salsa competition that the public can judge though. Also the store
will be open during the Festival. Sounds like a great time.
I had the chance to visit the store for the first time on 11/13. I had heard

good things about the store, but had not made it to the area until then. It
is a great store, with a huge selection of sauces & pepper items.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.
