worked the 10pm-6am shift at the Magnolia Cafe in Austin TX (the one
on Lakeside?...down in the neighborhood/college (west thereof)
district...that's where i served migas (scrambled eggs
w/onion/chiles/bell pepper and tortilla chips) and "luv butter"
(serranos and butter puree...great cooking medium)...great food,
weird staff (Psycho and Bob, the experimental drug tester guy, and
the 2 dishwashers with the state of Texas tattooed on the backs of
their necks, in red, and listed to death metal polka music)...weirder
(except for the dish dogs) customers aside from the drunk students
who were just drunk/obnoxious, thus normal students...
but god, the pancakes...had a gingerbread batter that was
heaven...big dollop of batter on the grill and the kitchen would
smell ohsowunnerful for a moment or three...
nice job...ugly shift...
I miss Austin town...
