<Presuming this refers to our standard USA charcoal BBQ briquets, this would explain why they never seemed to behave too similar to 'real' charcoal, other than the fact they eventually ignite and glow and leave behind whitish ash.> It's about the same make-up for all briquette producers, from what I understand, at least in the USA Jim
