Archaeologists are excavating an old mining town outside
of Reno, NV, and found one of the very first Tabasco bottles
at a saloon. Over 30,000 items have been excavated, but
it took hotsauce for it to make the news (ok, so it's too
vinegary and not very hot, but it's still cool that they
found it...)

"The bottle suggests that the saloon -- which was owned by
a black man from Massachusetts and catered to blacks and
whites from 1864-75 -- was among the first eateries to
introduce the now-popular spicy sauce."
