Well, as I was not around, this is a little late. Tonight, as we have, here in BC at this time of year, an abundance of little new potatoes, called
nuggets, locally. They are new, white or red, potatoes, about 1 to 2 inches in diameter, and the flavor is marvellous. Tonight, I cooked up 8 of them,
did a cheese cream sauce, with serranos, green onions(scallions) and some ground chile powder as well, added a little fresh parsley, served my bride
and I with a coupla pieces of frozen fish (cooked in the convection first of course!) At the last, I threw in a handful of frozen green peas, as well!
It was a fabulous dinner, seeing as we had spent all day on the road and a two hour ferry ride to Vancouver Island. Ordinarily, the ferry ride is a
treat, but after a few hours fighting traffic this, our holiday weekend, and the Merkin glorious fourth as well, I was not amused when the BC Ferry
Captain came on the blower and informed a large number of US and Canuck citizens, that we had a mechanical problem, which would entail at least
another 45 minutes longer on a normal 95 minute run! Oh well, we did get home to our island, and that's what we get fer livin on an island, however
large it is! At least, when we did arrive home, all of my pepper plants are thriving...hope Jim's do as well while he is up here in Canader! Cheeers,
Doug in BC, Vancouver Island!!
