Not gonna' believe this Doug. Another list I belong to has one member
writing about this stressing method & others, after trying it, swearing to
it. Drive a small finishing nail through main stem as close to soil line as
possible. That's it....wait a couple of days & check the heat. Would like to
know if you try & results. I have 4 plants that survived BAD overwintering
attention & can't try method this year. L.B. concerned about disease
infestation in wound, author responded with picture of plant with 4 or 5
nails in plant driven 1 per year
