Risa --

If I am not mistaken, a number of large sauce manufacturers will put other
people's labels on their sauce for a fee (ever seen the statement "Need a
great giveaway for your next company outing?"). Thus, it is probably
identical to Melinda's hot sauce. You could probably even go to the
Melinda's web site and see if they offer such a service. Either way,
Melinda's is a tasty sauce....

Subject: [CH] New Bottle - Weird Situation

My DH came home from the Cleveland today with 3 gifts,
one of which was a bottle of Joe's Crab Shack Super
Hot Sauce. He ate at the restaurant, which he said was
pretty good and he said he tasted the sauce and liked
it so he bought me a bottle.

When I took a look at it, the ingredient list sounded
quite familiar...Carrots, Habanero Peppers, Onions,
Lime Juice, Vinegar, Garlic and Salt. So, I picked out
my bottle of Melinda's from my collection and looked
at the ingredients and who made it...they were one and
the same.

When I read the cool writing on the bottle of Joe's
hot sauce, it said "Joe's Hot Sauce was created to
enhance a variety of food items. Joe believes its the
absolute finest sauce around (at least that's what he
tells his mother). Hey, you be the judge. Heck if it's
too hot, the waters on Joe...Joe's Sauce is not
available in any fine dining establishments and/or
stores..."

If it isn't available in any stores and/or fine
restaurant establishments, how come the ingredients
are the same as Melinda's Hot Sauce and it is made by
Figueroa Brothers in Metairie, LA????

The label is really cool, so I think I'll keep it.

Do you think that the amounts of each items is
different and it will taste slightly different or it
will taste exactly the same? My DH seems to think it
might taste a bit different, I don't.

Cool bottle anyway. Good to have him home and to have
another cool bottle to try.
