[CH] Chiles and Apples - A question about climate at the open fields

Hi to everyone,
I have seen on some pictures from the open fields, that there are apple
trees. Are the apples tipical for that area?
You must know, that I live in South Tyrol (Italy) "The bigest apple growing
bla bla in Europe" - Advertisement off.
I started growing some chile for myself but was wondering when you start
with the planting to get them as big and full of chiles. And does the black
plastic thing help that much?
