Whatever you do, do NOT try to make tofu jerky.
Tofu will slice thinly without any problems. It will
take on the marinade flavor just fine. It will even
dry well in a dehydrator, where many fine blends of
chile powders can be successfully applied. It will
look, feel, smell and taste like a delicious delivery
device for El Grande's wonderful creations. But after
three or four pleasant chews it reverts back to its
original form in a most unappealling manner. The only
accurate description I know of is, "It's like a mouth
full of snot".
