Actually, tofu is quite good in things -- such as tofu salad, made like an
egg salad but with tofu rather than eggs. TVP, tofu in disguise, can be
pretty good stuff in a pasta dish.

I think it better to serve it in sauces rather than to attempt to disguise
it as meat.
