It cost $300 + tax at Home Depot. They had a
Yard Machine mini tiller for $179, but it was a 2
stroke engine, where the Honda is a 4 stroke. Also,
a neighbor has a Yard Machine lawn mower and he has
to tinker with the engine and clean the carburetor
every year. I wanted my tiller to be more reliable
than that, so I dropped the extra $$$ for the Honda.
It comes with a drag bar to help control it better,
but when I tried using it in my raised beds it just dug
straight down. I took it off and it didn't prove any
tougher to control once I got the hang of it. It is
extremely maneuverable and the placement of the carry
handle, directly over the motor, is very well balanced.
Assembly note: Don't tighten any of the nuts/bolts
down completely until all parts are in place. The
carry handle is 2 pieces, the control handlebars are
3 pieces and they all interconnect.
Scott... I did it for the chile-dren... KCK
