I got an old one, A Merry Tiller manufactured in 1949.

With a 3.5 horse motor it will dig about 10" into the soil
with a 16 or 24" cut, If I want a 36" cut I toss on a 5hp motor.

Not recommended for raised beds, One slip and it will
tear the walls apart.

The tinges alone outweight the mini's
(8" dia 5/16" steel)

Like it because it digs deep and tosses up 3 to 4" dia rocks.

Wow, that thing is a beast!!! I think it would take longer to try to hoist
it over the
rail into my bed, and back out again, than it would to till the bed.
Definitely NOT for the
casual gardener. My parents is a little smaller than that... maybe a 4 HP
or so... too lazy
to go out in the garage and look right now... and the business end is in the
front. I'm
pretty sure it's a Craftsman.
