Hi there Erich.
You ought to know that today..............I had my first Habanero. At risk
of being thrown off the list, let me tell you about it.
I put some Lamb pieces into a Tagine with Sliced Carrots and Onions.
Cilantro. Thyme and a little stock spiced up with Ras El Hanout, a Moroccan
blend of spices. Left them to cook nice and slow for three hours by which
time the meet fell off the bone.
Meanwhile I sauteed chopped Onions. and Garlic. Added a little water. Added
two spoonfulls of 'Bolst' curry powder. A handfull of Thyme. Threw in one
whole Red Habanero, roughl;y chopped. Cooked it all for about three or four
minutes. Popped it into the blender and pureed it.
Filled my plate with delicious Lamb and vegetables, covered it with creamy
Habanero curry sauce and........
Beautiful. The first mouthful was a surprise. The heat was almost gentle and
spread slowly around my mouth and throat. I carried on eating and enjoying
the lovely flavour. The heat reach it's maximum and was bearable. Sweat
poured from every pore on my head and my nose eacame my worst enemy, but I
have to say I think it was a meal to be remembered. Thanks to all those CH's
that have encouraged me. Now the only question I have, is, does this make me
